Establish a Bond and Build Confidence With Your Companion

Protection training, building confidence, and establishing a level of intensity is a delicate task. Trainers without experience, in every stage of protection training from beginning to end, can hurt or damage your dog’s drive and the level of confidence. Count on K-9 Corps of Conway to provide protection training sessions for your dogs.

Some trainers might ask you to leave your companion for an unspecified amount of time, and then later you’re told to pick up your trained protection dog.

This is a dangerous method of training that we never encourage. The bond created between you and your dog during protection training is crucial. Your companion’s love for you is the major part of protection training.

We love your companions just as much as you do, and we would never want to be without them. Our protection training includes the handler and his companion.

Your Responsibility as a Protection Dog Owner

Protection training is not a game or a sport. The responsibility and liability of owning a protection dog should never be taken lightly.

With this amount of responsibility, it makes little sense to exclude the handler from his companion’s training. In our opinion, a handler with no concept of handling a protection dog is more dangerous than the dog itself.

We also encourage family involvement since your companion may end up protecting another member of your family from a violent crime.

Contact K-9 Corps of Conway today to enroll your companion in protection training.
